A quilt-as-you-go Vest, Jacket, Quilt, and Tote by Glenda Stock of Bird’s Nest Designs.
Vest and jacket use a purchased sweatshirt as the base. Wide strips and quilting-as-you-go make these wardrobe additions work up quick. Great for any season as cozy cover-ups.
Tote (approx. 14″ x 14″) is just the right size for carrying all your stuff’! Sample done in patriotic colors has the optional ‘snippets flag applique — a clever way to use up your fabric bits.
Quilt (approx. 44″ x 58″) uses wide strips and the quilt-as-you-go method. The lap size throw is quilted as you sew the strips to each other and to the batting/backing base all in one step. For extra interest, add rick rack (or other trim) in a random wavy pattern.
